# Set up your library

Build a project library from files, connectors, and academic search.

Start with a project folder and the sources you already know you need. You can add local files, import from a reference manager, or ask Anara to find more papers.

## Build a project [#build-a-project]

1. Choose **Create > Folder** and give it a recognizable project name.
2. [Upload files](/guides/add-files) or connect [Zotero](/guides/zotero), [Mendeley](/guides/mendeley), or [cloud storage](/guides/connectors).
3. Move the relevant files into your project folder.
4. Check **Full text** and correct important metadata in **Details**.
5. Add tags for review status or methodology.

## Find missing sources [#find-missing-sources]

```text title="Prompt"
I'm starting a review of school-based mental health interventions for adolescents. Find relevant empirical studies from the last ten years. Show titles, authors, years, and why each study fits. Let me choose what to import into my project folder.
```

Review the candidates, then ask Anara to import your selection. A source found by search may only provide an abstract. Upload the full PDF through your authorized access when needed.

## Ask your first cross-file question [#ask-your-first-cross-file-question]

Open the project folder and use its chat. For example: "Which outcome measures do these studies share? Cite the passages and say when a measure is not reported."

Use [folder instructions](/guides/customize#folder-instructions) for project-wide rules and [Views](/guides/views) when you need the same fields from every file. For screening and extraction, follow the [systematic review guide](/guides/systematic-reviews).
