# Overview

Guides and workflows for the Anara research workspace.

Anara is an AI research workspace where agents complete research tasks end to end. Give it a goal and Anara searches your library, the web, and academic databases, then synthesizes what it finds into a cited, verifiable answer or document you can edit.

The workspace has three parts that work together: a **library** for your papers, documents, and notes; an **agent** that searches, reads, and cites them; and an **editor** for writing with your sources beside you. The guides below teach each part. The workflow guides show how to use them together on research tasks.

**Building with the API?** Head to the [API docs](/api) for search, API keys, and integration guides.

## For agents [#for-agents]

Every page is available as Markdown. Append `.md` to any docs URL, or send `Accept: text/markdown`. [llms.txt](/llms.txt) lists every page and [llms-full.txt](/llms-full.txt) has the full text. An MCP server with `list_docs`, `search_docs`, and `read_doc` tools listens at `https://docs.anara.com/mcp`. See [Use these docs with AI](/guides/docs-for-ai).
