Where to use Anara
The MacOS desktop app, the web app, the Chrome extension, the Microsoft Word add-in, and MCP.
Your library and chats are the same everywhere you sign in. Pick the surface that fits the moment.

MacOS desktop
A native Mac app with the same workspace as the web app. Sign in with the same account and your library and chats are all there. If you lose your connection, the app waits and reconnects on its own.
Web app
The full product lives at anara.com. There is no dedicated mobile app; a mobile browser works, but Anara is designed for desktop screens.
Chrome extension
The Anara Chrome extension saves the page you are reading to your library in one click. It captures the full text, not just a bookmark, and the page shows up as a Website item you can chat with. It cannot capture content behind a login or paywall, and for PDFs hosted on the web, downloading and uploading the file usually extracts better text.
- Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Click its icon in the toolbar and sign in.
- On any page, click the icon to save it.
Microsoft Word add-in
The add-in brings an Anara pane into Word on Windows, Mac, and the web. The Agent tab can read your open document and edit it in place; the Cite tab finds and inserts references.
- In Word, open Home > Add-ins > More Add-ins (or Insert > Get Add-ins).
- Search for Anara and click Add.
- Click the Anara button on the Home tab and sign in.
If your organization blocks the add-in store, ask your Microsoft 365 admin to allow Anara for Word.
