Share and collaborate
Share folders, bring your team into a workspace, and write together.
Every account has a workspace, and a workspace can hold one person or a whole lab. Sharing works per folder, so you can open up one project and keep the rest private.
Folder visibility
| Visibility | Who can see it |
|---|---|
| Private | Only you |
| Team | Every member of your workspace, automatically |
| Shared | Specific people you invite by link, including people outside your workspace |
The left sidebar groups your folders into these three sections. Changing a folder from Team to Private removes access for workspace members immediately.
Share a folder
- Open the folder, then click Invite in the library toolbar. You can also right-click the folder in the sidebar.
- Choose a role:
- Viewer can read every file but cannot add, move, or delete.
- Editor can also add, move, and organize files.
- Copy the invite link and send it.
Viewer access suits sharing a reading list with a colleague at another institution. Notes support collaborative editing, so several people can write in the same note.
Add people to your workspace
For a team that works together every day, add everyone to one workspace and use Team folders instead of individual links.
- Go to Settings > Members.
- Click Invite and enter an email address.
- Choose Owner (settings, billing, and members) or Member (uses the workspace and shared content).
Each member has their own usage limit. You can belong to several workspaces and switch between them from the workspace name in the top left.
Account and billing
Plans, usage limits, credits, invoices, two-factor authentication, and account deletion are covered in the help center. Start with Inviting and managing team members and Managing your workspace.
